TRAP* (TRue Array Principle) Series loudspeakers combine the
inherrent sonic advantages of CoEntrant and Complex Conic
loudspeaker technology into a new design concept that for the
first time provides true point source arrays. 
 
When conventional trapezoidal cabinets and array techniques
are used to construct multi-cabinet arrays, the acoustical
centers of the cabinets are widely separated.  The result is
undesirable lobing and comb filtering. For true point source
array performance and minimum lobing and comb filtering,  the
acoustic centers of the loudspeakers used in the array must be
at the same point in space, or close to it.

TRAP Series loudspeakers achieve this using CoEntrant and
Comple Conic waveguide technology and  unique 40  trapezoidal
cabinets that assure proper acoustical center alignment in
tight packed arrays with a minimum of lobing and comb
filtering.

TRAP Series loudspeakers also lend themselves to TRI-POLAR
ARRAY construction, another exciting new Renkus-Heinz
development.  This novel new  technique uses TRAP-SVB low
frequency cabinets and an associated signal processor to
achieve low frequency directional control.

TRAPJR Loudspeakers and the MICROTRAP are compact 2-way TRAP
series cabinets featuring Complex Conic horns. They were 
developed for applications that do not need the higher SPL
levels generated by the larger CoEntrant TRAP's.


MODEL TRAP40/6, TRAP40/7 & TRAP40/9 SPECIFICATIONS

The loudspeaker shall be a Renkus-Heinz Model (TRAP40/6)
(TRAP40/9) (TRAP40/7) or approved equal 3-way
CoEntrant system offering true point source performance. 

The loudspeaker system shall consist of dual 6.5" carbon
fiber cone MF drivers and an extended-range 1" HF driver
coupled to a single mid/high frequency horn plus a heavy-duty 15" 
woofer, all mounted in a 40  trapezoidal enclosure. 
The system shall include a Mid/HF crossover and provide (40 
H x 60  V) (40  H x 90  V) (40  H x 75  asymmetrical V )
coverage.  

The loudspeakers Mid/HF power handling capacity shall be no
less than 260 W RMS @ 8 ohms, and lows 350 W RMS @ 8 ohms. 
Sensitivity shall be no less than 104 dB @ 1w,1m with a
maximum continuous SPL of at least 129  dB and a frequency
response of 40 Hz to 17 kHz. 

The enclosure shall be trapezoidal in shape and constructed
from 13 ply birch, heavily braced and lined with fiberglass
to suppress resonances.  It shall be no larger than 38" high
and 16 1/2" wide, be no deeper than 23 1/4", and weigh no
more than 95 Lbs.  A matching perforated metal grille backed
with protective foam shall be included. The finish shall be
(black carpet) (black paint) (white paint) (natural)
(weather resistant).  Connectors shall be (4-pin Neutrik)
(screw terminals). [The enclosure shall be equipped with
(handles) (universal mounting hardware offering 12 3/8-16
attachment points) (Aeroquip track fittings top and bottom
mounted).] 

The speaker system shall be designed for use with an
associated controller, Renkus-Heinz Model (X12) (X24) or
approved equal.  The controller shall provide fixed
crossover points, response equalization and protection from
overload damage.


MODEL TRAP42/6 & TRAP42/7 SPECIFICATIONS

The loudspeaker shall be a Renkus-Heinz Model (TRAP42/6)
(TRAP42/7) or approved equal 3-way CoEntrant system offering
true point source performance. 

The loudspeaker system shall consist of dual 6.5" carbon
fiber cone MF drivers and dual extended-range 1" HF drivers
coupled to a single mid/high frequency horn plus dual heavy-duty 
15" woofers, all mounted in a 40  trapezoidal
enclosure.  The system shall include a built-in Mid/HF
crossover and provide (40  H  by 60  V) (40  H by 75 
asymmetrical V) coverage.  

The loudspeakers Mid/HF power handling capacity shall be no
less than 260 W RMS @ 8 ohms, and lows 700 W RMS @ 4 ohms. 
Sensitivity shall be no less than 104 dB @ 1w,1m with a
maximum continuous SPL of at least 131 dB and a frequency
response of 40 Hz to 17 kHz. 

The enclosure shall be trapezoidal in shape and constructed
from 13 ply birch, heavily braced and lined with fiberglass to
suppress resonances.  It shall be no larger than 57 1/2"  high
and 16 1/2" wide, be no deeper than 23 1/4", and weigh no more
than 166  Lbs.  A matching perforated metal grille backed with
protective foam shall be included.  The finish shall be (black
carpet) (black paint) (white paint) (natural) (weather
resistant).  Connectors shall be (4-pin Neutrik) (screw

coupled to a single mid/high frequency horn, all mounted in
a 40  trapezoidal (20  sides) enclosure.  

The loudspeakers Mid/HF power handling capacity shall be no
less than 260 W RMS @ 8 ohms.  Sensitivity shall be no less
than 104 dB @ 1w,1m with a maximum continuous SPL of at
least 129 dB and a frequency response of 350 Hz to 17 kHz. 


MODEL TRAPJR/6 and TRAPJR/9 SPECIFICATIONS

The loudspeaker shall be a Renkus-Heinz (TRAPJR/6) (TRAPJR/9)
or approved equal 2-way loudspeaker utilizing Comple Conic
horn technology. Loudspeakers having conventional constant 
beamwidth or oval horns will not be considered equal under 
these specifications.

The loudspeaker system shall consist of an extended range
1" HF driver and a heavy-duty 12" woofer, all mounted in a 
40 degree trapezoidal enclosure.  The woofer shall have a 
4" edge wound voice coil and a Kevlar reinforced fiber
cone.   Its power handling capacity shall be at least 600 
watts continous program.

The system shall include a built-in crossover having a 600 
watt at 8 ohms power rating.  It shall provide (40 by 60)
(40 by 90) degree coverage.  Sensitivity shall be no less 
than 99 dB at 1w, 1m with a maximum continous SPL of at 
least 128 dB and a frequency response of 50 Hz to 17 KHz.

The trapezoidal enclosure shall be constructured from 13-
ply birch, heavily braced and lined with fiberglass to 
suppress resonances.  It shall be no larger than 26 1/2" 
high and 14 3/4" wide, be no deeper than 16", and shall
weigh no more than 63 Lbs.  A matching perforated metal 
grille backed with protective foam shall be included.

MICROTRAP

The loudspeaker shall be a Renkus-Heinz "MICROTRAP"
or approved equal 2-way loudspeaker utilizing Complex Conic
horn technology. Loudspeakers having conventional constant 
beamwidth or oval horns will not be considered equal under 
these specifications.

The loudspeaker system shall consist of an extended range
1" Titanium HF driver and a heavy-duty 6.5" woofer, all 
mounted in a 60 degree trapezoidal enclosure.  The woofer 
shall have a 1" voice coil and a treated fiber cone.
Its power handling capacity shall be at least 200 
watts continous program.

The system shall include a built-in crossover having a 200 
watt at 8 ohms power rating.  It shall provide 60 degree 
horizontal by 150 degree vertical coverage.  Sensitivity 
shall be no less than 92 dB at 1w, 1m with a maximum 
continous SPL of at least 125 dB and a frequency response
of 80 Hz to 20 KHz.

The trapezoidal enclosure shall be constructured from 13-
ply birch, heavily braced and lined with fiberglass to 
suppress resonances.  It shall be no larger than 14" 
high and 7 3/4" wide, be no deeper than 7 1/4", and shall
weigh no more than 11 Lbs.  A matching perforated metal 
grille backed with protective foam shall be included.

The finish shall be (black carpet) (black paint) (white
paint) (natural) (weather resistant).  Connectors shall
